Manchester City MEN

City v Hull: Preview

RECORD signing Robinho is set to make his first Manchester City appearance for three months in tomorrow's Premier League encounter with Hull at Eastlands.

The £32.5million Brazilian has not been involved for the Blues since August, after which he suffered a stress fracture on his international duty in Argentina.

Blues urged to ditch draw flaws

CITY must learn to be bullies in the Premier League playground if they want to avoid an unwanted piece of history.

The Blues stand just one more draw away from an outright club record - and lowly Hull City will be heading for Eastlands tomorrow intent on another stalemate.

Robinho back to boost Blues

ROBINHO has put the rumours and injury fears behind him and is ready to give City's season a much-needed boost.

The Brazilian ace is set to return for the Blues against Hull tomorrow, and that could not have come at a better time as City home in on a top-four finish.

Bolton linked with Benjani swoop

BOLTON boss Gary Megson is reportedly lining up a £1.5m bid for City striker Benjani Mwaruwari.

The former Portsmouth and Auxerre striker has fallen down Mark Hughes' pecking order following the arrivals of big name strikers Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Roque Santa Cruz.

Tevez to sink supersub stories

CITY have dismissed claims that they are about to turn Carlos Tevez into a supersub.

In some quarters, that was the interpretation placed on Mark Hughes' explanation of why the Argentine ace began the 2-2 draw at Liverpool on the bench.

Kompany up for the battle

VINCENT Kompany is relishing the challenge of earning a first-team place at Manchester City.

The Belgian international played all 90 minutes of Monday's 1-1 reserve team draw with Blackburn as he continues his rehabilitation from toe surgery in the summer.

Ade wants Tevez by his side

CITY'S own Lone Ranger admits he works better with an Apache as his sidekick.

Emmanuel Adebayor found it tough as a solo gunslinger in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Liverpool, but believes the arrival of Carlos Tevez as substitute started the Blues firing and changed the course of a previously tight, tense game.

Blues boosted by Johnson's return

MICHAEL Johnson's return to fitness after an 18-month injury nightmare will be like signing a "multi-million-pound player" for Manchester City.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has been struggling with a mysterious pelvic injury, played the full 90 minutes in Monday night's 1-1 reserve draw with Blackburn.

Give 'em Hull, Robi!

CITY are set to unleash Robinho on struggling Hull this weekend.

And the man who has had the closest view of the Brazilian star's fight for fitness believes he is ready to begin weaving his magic once again.

Back to basics for City

MANCHESTER City could come up with a Tottenham-style thrashing of an opponent sooner or later - but for now they will take a clean sheet or two!

The arrival of Hull at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday offers an excellent opportunity to avoid a club record seventh consecutive draw, and the fans are hungry to see City turn on the style.

City Suits Sven

With the 'revelation' that Sven has 150 suits, its obvious the press are running out of faults to find with our new manager.

Having hounded him in true England Manager style, it seems the brainless have finally expended their last whimper of discontent at the Former England Manager.

I dont think I've spoken to anyone who actually believed Sven did a bad job for England; anyone that is wth teh power of their own thought.

Of course there are media sponges who will a…

Manchester City Academy and England

How dull. No Manchester City game for 2 weeks.

I know International games are important and I could be commiting high treason, but I hate the International breaks. We never used to have them. Of course players now need more rest and the season is longer and blah blah blah, but has it helped us? I would argue not. England's international performances have not improved as a result.

So why have the break? All that has happened is that two Internationals are now played b…

Will Sven Change it?

Following City's defeat at Arsenal, will Sven make changes? Despite playing five in midfield, we still didn't get a grip of the centre field.

Elano has shown some great touches and vision, but needs time to get used to the Premiership to really make an impact. I'd like to see him play further up front in a supporting role if we are going to play with a lone striker.

Elano needs more support from Ireland and Johnson if we are to see the best of him. It would be easy for Sven…

So Far So Good

Well it wasnt pretty at times, but Johnsons goal was good enough to win any game. Derby did their best to stifle us in the middle of the park, but we invited that by playing Bianchi up front alone.

Derby were tough and strong and held well to their task of frustrating our fresh creativity. Of course referee Steve 'Bent' Bennet did his best to get them a point. His constant whistle blowing and unwarranted bookings of Manchester City players was a disgrace. It was one of those games whe…

Hi Tony,
Excellent website. Saves scanning round all over the place for news on City. Unfortunately won't be at the game tomorrow so will have to tough it out in a London pub with all the plastic cockney Rags.
