I personally think they dont like to see anyone break up the dream top 4.. so as long as Man U,Chelsea,Liverpool, Arsenal are in the top echolons of the league their wee jobs are safe as media reporters.
As for Jeff Stelling he couldnt wait for Arsenal to score today... the tit.
I hope Sven plays 4-4-2 at Bristol City and we see the real MCFC as opposed to the lets not get beaten version that we have seen so far..
i've no idea Paul why the media love to hate us. As far back as i can remember when TV was black and white, Jimmy Hill and teh 'pundits' had it in fro us too. It may have something to do with the old saying ' if the media didnt make you they cant break you' Sames applies to Oasis. We have the most loyal fans int eh country, if not the world and the medi aknows that whatever they and life throw at us - we will not waiver. That mst be really annoying for them! hehe.
I think it's Sven that they hate rather than City to be honest, although at times it seems if the media aren't ignoring us (unless we are playing Arsenal, Trafford Rangers or Chelsea we are always last on Match of the Day for example) they are knocking us. The London based media can't forgive Sven because 'Team England' didn't win the World Cup. They are still deluding themselves that a bunch of mediocrities were the 'Golden Generation', and Sven squandered the best opportunity since 1966 or maybe 1990 to win it. Yes Sven got a lot wrong with England, but that lot were never world beaters. Don't try telling that to the (I think mainly) West Ham and Arsenal supporting media though. They want to see Sven fall flat on his face and they will be taking pot shots at us all season.
Have you ever seen that awful Sunday Supplement on Sky? All those deluded journalists are wannabe footballers and still cant accept they weren't. You'd think that Brian tabloid hack was Premier League chairman!
Yes I'm sure there is some 'hate Sven' factor involved. And yet it all goes further back and much deeper even than that. We are just not 'fashionable' in the eyes of the media twits. Even when we were by far the best team in the country in the late 60's we were still never the media darlings.
Reasons are difficult to find with biased people like that, it's just a fact. Arsenal, The Rags, Chelsea etc all have ready made camp followers who will oo and ah at every little thing they do. We don't have any media stars and a collection of Wags to fill the photo pages (thank goodness), we've always just been a good honest football side with wonderful dedicated and honest supporters. But you just watch. If the renaissance we are seeing now flourishes then they will come sniffing around for their titbits as it's their livelihoods. They always follow the money
I think its because Swen is far mor intelligent than the Media. And whats more they know it and he probably knows it. He can talk to them for ages and at the end of it they think he has told them a lot but when they sit down an analyse it he has actually told them very little.

P.S. Only playin.......City have done bloody well this year, and i hope they turn Manchester into Milan!
